Object history
Deutsch: Auf Grund eines Vorschlags der Archivdirektion Stuttgart aus dem Jahre 1924 nahm die Gemeinde Ellenberg dieses Wappen an. Ihr Name wird, gleich dem der benachbarten Stadt Ellwangen, mit dem Elch in Verbindung gebracht, der somit als „redende" Wappenfigur anzusehen ist. Die Flagge, bei deren Festlegung die Gemeinde zur Unterscheidung von der schwarz-gelben Landesflagge die von den Wappenfarben abweichende Kombination Blau-Gelb gewählt hat, wurde vom Innenministerium am 26. Juli 1957 verliehen.
