Object history
Français : La croix tréflée apparaît pour la première fois comme attribut de S. Maurice dans un sceau de 1348 ; à partir de 1414 elle entre dans les armes de l'Abbé 16. Dès lors, la croix tréflée est si bien connue comme insigne de l'abbaye, qu'on la nomme « croix de S. Maurice ». La partition azur-gueules des armes de la ville, est une brisure destinée à les distinguer de celles de l'abbaye.
