Deutsch: Die Darstellung erinnert im Sinne des «redenden Wappens» an den Ortsnamen, wobei der Kastanienbaum auf dem Dreiberg zugleich die erhöhte Lage der Gemeinde versinnbildlicht. Die Farben Gold/Grün sind jene der aus Mailand stammenden Grafen Trivulzio, die 1480 mit dem Kauf der Burg Mesocco durch Gian Giacomo Trivulzio die Herrschaft über die Mesolcina erlangten und mit der Grafschaft Misox 1496 dem Grauen Bund beitraten.
