Français : parti d'argent à la clef de gueules, et de gueules à l'épée d'argent Ces armes furent celles du monastère clunisien de Romainmôtier à partir du XIVème siècle. La clef et l'épée, emblèmes de saint Pierre et saint Paul, patrons de la ville, se retrouvent sur le blason de Cluny Blason de l'Abbaye de Cluny. Ces armes ont été adoptées par la ville au XVIème siècle.
