Description
English: Lazurite
Locality: Lapis Mine, Sar-e-Sang, Badakhshan Prov., Afghanistan
Size: small cabinet, 7.5 x 5.9 x 3.9 cm
Lazurite
Perched aesthetically, high on a white marble matrix with some minor pyrite, are two equant, well formed crystals of royal blue lazurite, the larger crystal measuring 3.5 cm across. The color contrast is striking. This is an exceptional piece for the size and sharpness of the crystals, as well as the overall aesthetics. Its more than just pretty though...for this combination i would rank it as a super example of the best from this nearly inaccessible locality. Comes on a custome base
