Description
English: Blazon:„Gules, above mountains Argent, charged with an saw azure with handles Or in the base two key saltirewise Or.“
The arms were granted on February 11, 1972. The upper half of the arms show the crossed keys, symbol of St. Peter. The local church was built in 1750 and became a possession of the St. Peter Abbey in Salzburg two years later. The lower half shows the "Bischofsmütze" of the Dachstein mountains and a saw as a symbol for forestry, a major occupation in the area for many centuries.
Deutsch: Blasonierung:„In rotem Schild zwei aufwärtsgekreuzte goldene (gelbe) Schlüssel über einem dem aufragenden silbernen (weißen) Gebirgsmassiv (das die Bischofsmütze darstellt), welches im Schildfuß mit einer gold- (gelb-)begrifften blauen Säge belegt ist.“
Das Wappen wurde der Gemeinde von der Salzburger Landesregierung am 11. Februar 1972 verliehen. Das Wappen zeigt die Bichofsmütze, belegt mit einer Säge welche für die Forstwirtschaft steht. Die gekreuzten Schlüssel sind die Attribute Petri und weisen auf die frühere Zugehörigkeit zum Erzstift St. Peter hin.
