Deutsch: „Das Wappen enthält das älteste - ursprüngliche - Wappen der früheren Herrschaft Homburg mit den beiden Türmen auf rotem Grund und dem Tor mit spitzem Giebel und Fallgatter. Dazu kommt ein Wappenschild. Dies wiederum enthält auf zwei Feldern mit rotem Grund den Homburger Löwen und zwei weitere Felder mit schwarzen Balken auf silbernem Grund.“ Der Gemeinde ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten in Köln vom 18. Dezember 1969 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden.
English: „The arms are identical to the arms of the Homburg Estate, a possession of the Counts of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg. The castle is also used in the arms of the district. The Homburg is situated in the municipality. Above the left tower is the arms of the Counts themselves.“
