Deutsch: Der Basilisk entstammt dem Wappen des Klosters Banz. Der von Rot und Silber im Zickzackschnitt gevierte Schild ist das Wappen der Herren von Lichtenstein. Das Wappen der Schott von Schottenstein war geviert von Silber und Rot; beides einflussreiche Familien im Gemeindegebiet.
English: The basilisk is derived from the arms of the Banz Abbey. The quarterly pily chief is derived from the arms of the Lords of Lichtenstein and the quarterly escutcheon Argent and gules is derived from the arms of the Lords of Schott von Schottenstein.
