Brasão de Aracaju - Lei nº 6 de 27/01/1955. INSÍGNIAS - Coroa mural, com cinco torres douradas, que testifica ser de Capital. TENENTES - Dois hipocampos dourados, assentes no listel de azul, significando porto fluvial. BRAZÃO DE ARMAS - Escudo esquartelado. Primeiro campo, de ouro, com uma cruz de vermelho (símbolo da fé cristã do povo aracajuano). Segundo Campo, de azul, com salinas prateadas (produção extrativa de sal, uma das fontes de sua economia). Terceiro campo, azul com um coqueiro prateado (principal produção agrícola do município, na sua vida econômica). Quarto campo, dourado com roda dentada de vermelho (evolução do trabalho através dos tempos). LEMA - PAX ET LABOR - em letras de ouro, sobre o listel azul.
