Полікарп, архімандрит Печерський - ? - 6 серпня 1182 р.

Архімандрит Печерського монастиря (1164-1183). Преподобний. Пам'ять 11 жовтня і 6 серпня. Замолоду був наближений до князя Святослава Ольговича; вів господарчі записи, брав участь у дипломатичних місіях. Близько 1156-1163 рр. постригся у Печерському монастирі. За благословенням ігумена Акіндіна продовжує печерське літописання (доведене до початку 70-х років ХІІ ст.) Близько 1164-1165 рр. обраний ігуменом. Брав активну участь у богословській дискусії про піст - чи необхідний піст у середу і п'ятницю, коли на них припадає свято. Товаришував з київським князем Ростиславом Мстиславичем (1159-1167), який навіть збирався постригтися в його обителі. У 1171 р. першим з печерських ігуменів одержав сан архімандрита. Варто відрізняти архімандрита Полікарпа від його тезки (жив у ХІІІ ст.), ченця того ж монастиря й одного з авторів "Патерика Печерського". Його мощі спочивають у Ближніх печерах.
