Descrierea stemei:

Stema oraşului Babadag se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, împărţit în formă de furcă. În prima partiţie, pe fond roşu, se află un strugure, cu o crenguţă şi două frunze, de aur. În câmpul din dreapta, pe fond argintiu, se află un arbore dezrădăcinat, în culoare naturală. În câmpul din stânga, pe fond albastru, se află o cetate de argint, cu trei turnuri inegale, aşezate pe patru dealuri, de aur. Scutul este trimbrat de o coroană murală de argint, cu trei turnuri crenelate.

Semnificaţia elementelor însumate:

Strugurele şi arborele sunt simbolul bogăţiei zonei, vestită prin podgorii şi păduri. Cetatea aşezată pe dealuri a figurat în stema interbelică a localităţii, făcând trimitere la stăpânirea romană din zonă, prima atestare documentară datând din anul 1262.

Coroana murală cu trei turnuri crenelate semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de oraş.

Therefore this image is assumed to be in the public domain worldwide, although some of the above categories may be subject to usage restrictions within Romania.
