Susan Sarandon
Susan Sarandon (alk. Susan Abigail Tomalin, s. 4. lokakuuta 1946 Jackson Heights, New York, Yhdysvallat) on yhdysvaltalainen näyttelijä ja aktivisti. Hän kuuluu sukupolvensa arvostetuimpiin elokuvatähtiin. Nuorena Eileen Fordin toimiston mallina toiminut Sarandon aloitti elokuvauransa 1970-luvulla, jolloin hän esiintyi muun muassa kulttielokuvassa The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)[1]. Klassikoksi ovat nousseet myös Thelma ja Louise (1991) sekä Pikku naisia (1994).

Susan Sarandon sai naispääosan Oscarin roolistaan elokuvassa Kuolemaantuomittu (1995)[1], jonka ohjasi hänen tuolloinen elämänkumppaninsa, näyttelijä Tim Robbins. Sarandon ja Robbins seurustelivat vuodesta 1988 lähtien, mutta joulukuussa 2009 he ilmoittivat eronneensa.[2] Heillä on kaksi lasta, pojat Jack Henry Robbins (s. 1989) ja Miles Guthrie Robbins (s. 1992). Sarandonilla on myös tytär, näyttelijä Eva Amurri (s. 1985), jonka isä on Franco Amurri.
Näyttelemisen lisäksi Sarandon tunnetaan aktivismistaan. Hän on kampanjoinut muun muassa seksuaalivähemmistöjen oikeuksien puolesta ja Irakin sotaa vastaan.[3] Joulukuussa 2015 hän vieraili Lesboksen saarella Kreikassa tapaamassa Eurooppaan pyrkiviä pakolaisia.[4] Vuoden 2016 presidentinvaaleissa Sarandon kampanjoi Bernie Sandersin puolesta.[3]
