Description
Deutsch: Wir betrachten das Beispiel aus Three Peaks forming an Island.png und denken uns den Wasserspiegel jetzt auf Höhe der Bezugsscharte des Gipfels A (Grafik). Die Berge A und B berühren sich genau in der Scharte und bilden so das Prominence-Island für den Gipfel A. Da die Scharte zwischen den Gipfeln B und C niedriger liegt, bildet C eine eigene, vom Prominence Island für A durch das Wasser abgetrennte Insel. Der Island Parent des Gipfels A ist daher der Gipfel B.
