Deutsch: Das älteste Uznacher Wappen ist eine Goldschmiedearbeit aus dem 15. Jahrhundert.
Object history
Deutsch: Nach der Überlieferung soll das Rosenwappen darauf zurückzuführen sein, dass Uznach im 12. Jahrhundert den Grafen von Alt-Rapperswil bei Altendorf gehörte, die drei Rosen führten. Als Guta von Rapperswil zwischen 1180 und 1195 Diethelm I. von Toggenburg heiratete, soll sie die Grafschaft Uznach und mit ihr die Rose im Wappen als Heiratsgut mit in die Ehe gebracht haben.
