Object history
Deutsch: Als im Jahre 1895 das kantonale Schützenfest in Buochs durchgeführt wurde und dafür eine Medaille gestaltet werden sollte, regte der Gestalter Adelbert Vokinger an, darin unter anderem das Gemeindewappen zu zeigen. Der Vorschlag gefiel, hatte aber einen Hacken. Buochs besass nämlich noch gar kein eigenes Wappen. Der damalige Staatsarchivar Robert Durrer wusste Abhilfe, in dem er auf das Siegel des Johannes von Buochs aufmerksam machte, welches der Ministeriale am 26. April 1260 an eine Urkunde hatte hängen lassen. Die Vorlage gefiel und der Gemeinderat erklärte darauf das Siegelbild aus dem 13. Jahrhundert zum offiziellen Gemeindewappen. Gleichzeitig legte er auch die Farben fest, weil diese auf dem Siegelabdruck fehlten.
