editDescriptionGrafschaft Bonndorf - Pfeffel 1746.png |
English: Detail of a mid-18th century map showing the County of Bonndorf (in aqua). Cropped out of map 3 of a multi-map series centered on the Circle of Swabia titled Per Inclyti Circuli Suevici Supremorum Ordinum, etc. published by Johann Andreas Pfeffel in 1746. The Benedictine Abbey of St. Blasien (visible on the far left of the map as St. Blasi, next to "OB", which stands for Orden benedictina) acquired Bonndorf in the early 17th century. Since Bonndorf enjoyed the status of imperial immediacy, the abbots of St. Blasien, as counts of Bonndorf, had seat and vote on the Bench of the Swabian Counts at the Imperial Diet. Bonndorf was almost entirely surrounded by territories belonging to the princes of Fürstenberg (in yellow). |
