Deutsch: Das Wappen erinnert mit seinen drei Bärenköpfen an die einstige Grundherrin, die Abtei St. Gallen. Der silberne Querbalken geht auf die Herren von Elgg zurück und erscheint erstmals 1288 im Siegel Eberhards von Elgg.
