Object history
Français : Ecublens fut le berceau d'une ancienne famille noble de ce nom, remontant au XIIe siècle et qui joua un certain rôle dans l'histoire de l'évêché de Lausanne jusqu'à la fin du Moyen Age. En 1280, Rodolphe d'Ecublens scella d'un faucon pillant un oiseau dans le champ. Au XXe siècle, l'héraldiste de Mandrot attribua à cette famille les armes des d'Ecoubleau de Sourdis (famille bordelaise), qui furent reprises par la Commune vers 1920 et enregistrées en 1929.
