If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}. It is recommended to name the SVG file “MedusaNuclearPropulsionOperatingSequenceDrawing.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

• At moment of bomb / pulse unit firing (1),
• As the bomb's explosion pulse reaches the parachute canopy (2),
• Pushes the canopy, accelerating it away from the bomb explosion (3) as the spacecraft plays out the main tether with the winch, braking as it extends, starting to accelerate the spacecraft,
• And finally winches the tether back in (4).
