The addition of a fifth temperament to the four temperaments drastically changes the old "four faces" (See Image) used to represent the ancient temperaments. The face in the upper left, that in the old system represented the Phlegmatic now represents the fifth temperament. The new face in the middle represents Phlegmatic. The Phlegmatic blends lie in pairs between the adjacent four outer temperaments. With this new method of identifying the temperaments, the faces can now be read as follows: the eyes represent "expressed behavior", (´`="introvert"; `´="extrovert"; --="indifferent") and the mouth represents "wanted behavior".
