Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde 1951 der Gemeinde Oesede durch den niedersächsischen Minister des Innern verliehen. Es wurde von der 1970 neu gegründeten Stadt Georgsmarienhütte weitergeführt und ist in kaum veränderter Form abgeleitet vom Wappen der Stifter des Klosters Oesede, der Grafen von Oesede. Die Farben entstammen dem Wappen der Grafschaft Ravensberg.
