Stottite and ludlockite are two of the very rare mineral species for which the Tsumeb Mine is renowned . It is also the Type Locality for both species. The rich piece of rare germanite ore hosts a small vug that is lined with bundles of brilliant, reddish-orange ludlockite hairs and a 2 mm, gemmy, brown, tetragonal stottite crystal. This crystal is brilliantly lustrous and easily eye visible. This is an excellent combination of the rarities and came from the one-time find at the 30 Level. Well-Crystallized Stottite is unique to Tsumeb. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.
