Object history
Deutsch: Die Aufteilung des Schildes in vier Felder (Vierung) erinnert an die Zusammenlegung der vier Gemeinden Dengling, Haimbuch, Mötzing und Schönach zur neuen Gemeinde Mötzing im Jahr 1972. Für Mötzing steht im ersten Feld das Wappen der im 16. Jahrhundert ausgestorbenen Familie Kastner von Mötzing. Der schwarze Balken symbolisiert zugleich den Verlauf einer wichtigen Altstraße, der sogenannten Ochsenstraße, durch das Gemeindegebiet. Für Dengling steht im zweiten Feld das Wappen der Familie Berchem, die die Gutsherrschaft bis 1848 innehatte. Das dritte Feld füllt das Wappen der Grafen von Seinsheim, die seit 1764 die wichtigsten Grundherren in Schönach und Haimbuch waren. Das Kreuz des Deutschen Ordens erinnert an die Besitzungen der Deutschordenskommende Regensburg in Haimbuch.
