Object history
Deutsch: Die Farben Gold und Grün im Schildfuß symbolisieren Acker und Wiese und damit die landwirtschaftliche Prägung des Gemeindegebiets. Die goldene Mitra steht als Attribut des heiligen Nikolaus für den Patron der Pfarrkirche Pleiskirchen. Die heraldische Lilie, ein Mariensymbol, verweist auf die früher selbstständige Gemeinde Nonnberg und die dortige Kirche Mariä Himmelfahrt. Das Lindenblatt repräsentiert die frühere Gemeinde Wald mit einer als Naturdenkmal geschützten alten Linde. Die Gemeinden Nonnberg und Wald b. Winhöring (bis 1966 Geratskirchen II) wurden am 1. Januar 1972 aufgelöst und in die Gemeinde Pleiskirchen eingemeindet. Der silberne Pfahl in Rot ist aus dem Wappen der Familie von Taufkirchen übernommen, die vom 16. bis 18. Jahrhundert die Hofmark Klebing und im 17. Jahrhundert auch den Sitz Güntering besaß. Die Farben Rot und Weiß unterstreichen zugleich die große historische Bedeutung Salzburgs für das Gemeindegebiet; Pleiskirchen ist eine frühe, schon 930 als Pfarrsitz "Puohpach" bestätigte Salzburger Kirche.
