Object history
Deutsch: Der Gemeinde ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten in Düsseldorf vom 9. Juni 1976 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. Das Wappen ist abgeleitet von den Wappen der Gemeinde Drevenack und des Amtes Gahlen sowie von Schöffensiegeln vön Hünxe und Drevenack, welche die Attribute der Ortspatrone St. Suitbert (Stern) und St. Sebastian (Pfeil) sowie die halbe klevische Lilienhaspel zeigten.
English: The arms were granted on June 9, 1976. The arms are derived from two old seals of the largest municipalities Drevenack (arrow) and Hünxe (star). Both seals show the patron saints St. Sebastian and St. Suitbert and combine the arms of Drevenack and Amt Gahlen. The escarbuncle symbolises the former belonging to the Duchy of Cleves.
