Description
English: A group of British "A" class submarines. This was the Royal Navy's first class of British-designed submarines. They were an improvement on the US Plunger class. Thirteen submarines of this class were built by Vickers at Barrow-in-Furness between 1902 and 1905. The last was broken up in 1920. Old postcard from this collection.
Polski: Jednostki typu "A" (British 'A' class submarines) były pierwszymi okrętami podwodnymi zaprojektowanymi i zbudowanymi w Wielkiej Brytanii. Ich rozwiązania techniczne oparto na amerykańskich okrętach typu HOLLAND (US Plunger-Class) służącymi w Royal Navy od 1901 roku. Wszystkie okręty typu A, a było ich razem trzynaście, powstały w stoczni Vickers (Barrow-in-Furness) w latach 1902-1905.

Author UK Government. Sourced to 'an old postcard'. To be this close to so many active submarines indicates that the photographer was at the very least UK Government, if not Royal Navy.
