Si isch am südwestlige Usgang vom Bosporus glääge, uf em östlige Spitz von ere Halbinsle zwüschen em Marmarameer und em Goldige Horn. Wäge sinere usgezäichnete Laag isch Byzantion 326 bis 330 vom römische Kaiser Konstantin I. zur nöije Hauptstadt Konstantinopel (hüte Istanbul) usbaut worde.
