Ian Adamson

Ba iar-Chomhalta den Tionól Reachtach i Stormont agus iar Ard-Mhéara Bhéal Feirste (polaiteoir de chuid Pháirtí Aontachtach Uladh), é an Dr. Ian Adamson, OBE (28 Meitheamh 1944 - 9 Eanáir 2019). Bhí an Dochtúir Adamson ina Chomhairleoir Cathrach ar feadh 21 bliain[1].

Ba shaineolaí é ar an Ultais agus bhí neart saothar foilsithe aige. Is léir go bhfuil an t-ainm "Ultais" bunaithe ar an ainm "Ullans" a chum Adamson sna 1980idí. Ba scoláire aitheanta ar an stair, Gaelgeoir[2] agus péidiatraí é freisin. Bhí sé ina dhochtúir pearsanta ag iar Chéad Aire an Tuaiscirt Ian Paisley chomh maith leis sin, go dtí gur bhásaigh Paisley sa bhliain 2014.

Ba shaineolaí é Ian Adamson ar an gCéad Cogadh Domhanda agus Cath an Somme[3].

Ó hUiginn gur chuir an Dr. Adamson “i gcuimhne dúinn nach bhfuil ionainn ach imirceoirí ar feadh tamaill sa saol agus chuir sé béim ar ár stair chomhroinnte, ar ár bhféiniúlachtaí comhroinnte, ar ár leochaileachtaí agus ár bhfréamhacha imirceacha comhroinnte”.[4]
