Ribosom

Eitt ribosom er eitt lítið og tætt organel í kyknum sum framleiður proteinir. Ribosom eru umleið 20nm í tvørmát og eru samansett av 65% ribosomal RNA og 35% ribosomal proteinum. Ribosom týður boð RNA (mRNA) og byggjur her við eina polypeptid ketu (t.d. eitt protein) við brúk av aminosýru sum verður í verða borin út av sendi RNA (tRNA)
