Sloan

Sloan on nelihenkinen powerpop -yhtye Kanadasta. Yhtye sai alkunsa vuonna 1991 kun Chris Murphy ja Andrew Scott tapasivat koulussa nimeltä Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD). Patrick Pentland ja Jay Ferguson liittyivät yhtyeeseen pian sen jälkeen. Vuonna 1992 yhtye perusti heidän oman levy-yhtiönsä, Murderecordsin, itselleen ja muille Halifaxin alueen yhtyeelle ja julkaisivat The Peppermint EP:n. Myöhemmin vuonna 1992 Geffen Records julkaisi heidän täyspitkän albuminsa, Smeared.
