Poison the Well

Poison the Well oli kokeellinen post-hardcore-yhtye Miamista ja Fort Lauderdalesta, Floridasta. Yhtye perustettiin vuonna 1997, ja se lopetti toimintansa vuonna 2010. Yhtyeen ilmaisussa kuultiin myös metalcorea ja melodista hardcorea.

Historia

Poison the Wellin alkuperäinen nimi oli An Acre Lost, ja sen perustivat laulaja Aryeh Lehrer ja kitaristi Ryan Primack. Pian heidän ensimmäisen julkaisun jälkeen ilmestyi 12 split with Promise No Tomorrow, jolla nimi oli muutettu Poison the Welliksi. Poison the Wellin ensimmäinen EP, Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder, ilmestyi vuonna 1998. Trustkill Records kiinnostui yhtyeestä julkaisun myötä ja teki levytyssopimuksen Poison the Wellin kanssa. Ensimmäinen albumi näki päivänvalon vuonna 1999. Albumi kantoi nimeä The Opposite of December...A Season of Separation. Musiikkilehti Guitar World piti levyä yhtenä parhaista hardcore-levytyksistä.
