Gene Wolfe

Gene Rodman Wolfe (7. toukokuuta 1931 – 14. huhtikuuta 2019[1] ) oli yhdysvaltalainen tieteis- ja fantasiakirjailija. Hän voitti muun muassa kaksi World Fantasy Awardia sekä kaksi Nebula-palkintoa ja oli moninkertainen Hugo-ehdokas. Hänet nimettiin yhdeksi tieteiskirjallisuuden Grand Mastereista vuonna 2013.[2]

Wolfen tunnetuimpiin teoksiin kuuluu romaanisarja Uuden auringon kirja, jonka neljä osaa ilmestyivät peräkkäisinä vuosina 1980–83. Ensimmäinen osa, Kiduttajan varjo, ilmestyi suomeksi Gummeruksen julkaisemana vuonna 2012 ja toinen osa, Sovinnontekijän kynsi vuonna 2013. Kolmas osa, Liktorin miekka, ilmestyi suomeksi vuonna 2015, ja viimeinen osa Autarkin linnoitus vuonna 2016.
