Takashi Murakami

Nihonga pintura japoniar tradizionalean trebatu zen, usadiozko teknika eta gai japoniarretan arreta jartzen duen estiloan, eta Tokioko Arte Eder eta Musika Unibertsitate Nazionalean doktoregoa lortu zuen 1983an. 1980ko hamarkadaren amaieratik nabarmendu den neo pop japoniarraren belaunaldiko artista da. Haren lanetan jaioterriko egungo herri-kulturaren osagaiak erabili arren, esaterako, animea (animazioa) eta manga (komikia), ez ditu alde batera utzi usadio japoniarrekoak eta besteak beste honako hauek erabiltzen ditu: budismoaren ikonografia, XII. mendeko pintura-bilkariak, zen pinturak eta XVIII. mendeko Edo garaiko pintura bitxia delakoa[1].

Murakamiren lanek arte jasoaren eta herri-kulturaren arteko beste erlazio bat sortzen dute, eta bere kontzeptuan artea ekonomiaren parte da. Eta bere artea zabaltzeko, enpresa bat darabil hain zuzen, Kaikai Kiki Co., Ltd., honakoak egiteko: merchandisin produktuen kate-ekoizpena, animazio-filmen produkzioa, eta hainbat enpresek eskatzen dizkioten diseinuak, adibidez, Louis Vuitton etxeak eskatutakoak.
