Palaeoloxodon falconeri (hizkera arruntean elefante nano deitua) egungo asiar elefantearekin loturiko espezie iraungitua da, Sizilian eta Maltan bizi zena.[1][2] Litekeena da bere arbasoak Mediterraneoko uharteetara Izotz Aroan izan eta bertan eboluzionatzea.
