Franciscus Sylvius (1614-1672) estis nederlanda kuracisto, kemiisto, fiziologo kaj anatomo, unu el la unuaj defendantoj de la teorio kaj laboroj de René Descartes, Jan Baptista van Helmont kaj William Harvey. Li estis unu el la ĉefaj apogantoj de la teorio pri la sangocirkulado en Nederlando. Li estis profesoro de anatomio de la Universitato de Lejdeno. La fendo de Silvio estas tiel nomita liahonore.
