Adepto estas sperta lernito de fako de (ofte esotera) scio. Oni povas esti adepto en jogo aŭ ia mistikaj aŭ religiaj aferoj. Pli ĝenerale, ĝi povas signifi homo kiu havas grandan iom da scio de specifa temo, kiel "adepto de Esperanto".
