Həyatı
  • 1874-cü il 17 fevralda Nyu-York ştatının kənd rayonunda, metodist kilsəsinə mənsub şotland mühacirinin ailəsində anadan olmuşdur;
  • əmək fəaliyyətinə National Cash Register (1895-1913) şirkətində kommivoyajer kimi başlayan Uotson şirkətdə sürətlə karyera zirvəsinə qalxır;
  • 1913-cü ildə 29 yaşlı Janet Kitreclə ailə qurur;
  • 1914-cü ilin mayında Computing Tabulating Recording (CTR) şirkətində baş rəis vəzifəsini tutur, şirkət sonradan adını dəyişib International Business Machines (IBM) olur;
  • 41 il ərzində CTR/İBM-ə rəhbərlik etmiş, ölümündən 6 ay əvvəl, 1956-cı ildə şirkətə rəhbərliyi böyük oğlu Tomasa vermişdir;

1956-cı il 19 iyunda vəfat etmişdir.[4]
