Opisthosporidia o tamién Cryptomycota sensu lato, ye un grupu de microorganismos unicelulares parásitos obligaos, polo xeneral intracelulares que producen espores o zoospores.[1] Constitúin un grupu basal de los fungos, enantes fueron clasificaos como protistes. Revelóse que los distintos subgrupos presenten quitina a nivel de la paré celular o siquier de les espores, una carauterística universal de los fungos.[2] La quitina ta acomuñada a α- y β-glucanos, pa ello, utilícense enzimes quitina sintetases específiques de tipu IV, al igual que na mayoría d'fungos más evolucionaos.[3]
