Hydatellaceae ye una familia de plantes acuátiques de Australasia y la India. Inclúi dos xéneros: Hydatella y Trithuria. La familia foi reconocida por sistemes de clasificación modernos como'l sistema de clasificación APG III (2009[2]) y el APWeb (2001 d'equí p'arriba[3]) que la asignen al orde Nymphaeales.

Descripción

Son plantes acuátiques. Les fueyes son simples concentraes alredor d'un curtiu tarmu basal. La planta ta somorguiada y remanecen de l'agua añalmente, los raigaños permanecen so l'agua nel sustratu. Les plantes son hidrófilas. Les flores alcuéntrase en recímanos. Los frutos son aquenios.[4]

Atópense solamente en Australasia y la India.

Hydatellaceae foi per munchos años considerada cercana a Poales, según tamién d'incluyir en Centrolepidaceae. Sicasí, los estudios filoxenéticos demostraron que se topa incluyida dientro de Nymphaeales y, poro, representa unu de los más antiguos llinaxes d'anxospermes.[5]
