El hiri motu ye un idioma oficial de Papúa Nueva Guinea. Ye un pidgin del motu, idioma faláu na provincia central, que nació hacia 1880 pela redolada de Port Moresby. La fonoloxía y la gramática son distintes, polo cual los falantes de hiri motu nun pueden entender el motu, anque les llingües son similares léxicamente nun 90%.
