Fred C. Newmeyer (9 d'agostu de 1888, Central City (es) Traducir – 24 d'abril de 1967, Woodland Hills) foi un actor y direutor cinematográficu d'Estaos Xuníos, activu na dómina del cine mudu.

Biografía

Nacíu en Central City, Colorado, ye sobremanera conocíu por dirixir dellos filmes de la serie Our Gang y por dirixir les películes de Harold Lloyd The Freshman y El tenorio cobarde. Newmeyer tamién dirixó y actuó n'otros numberosos curtios cómicos. Asina, participó como actor en 71 filmes ente 1914 y 1923.

Newmeyer foi'l direutor orixinal del primer curtiu de la serie La Peada. Sicasí, el productor Hal Roach rehizo la cinta con Robert F. McGowan como direutor. Newmeyer, en dirixendo otros munchos curtios de Roach, volvería a la serie de La Peada en 1936 pa dirixir The Pinch Singer, Arbor Day, Mail and Female y el llargumetraxe Xeneral Spanky. Newmeyer codirixió con Sam Taylor el famosu filme mudu de Harold Lloyd L'home mosca (1923).[3]
