Békéscsaba ye una ciudá autónoma d'Hungría y capital de la provincia de Békés. Ta asitiada nel Alföld o Gran Planura. Cuenta con 70.000 habitantes. L'actividá económica principal ye l'agricultura.
Foi fundada nel sieglu XIII pero dempués foi polos turcos. Nel sieglu XVIII afincáronse colonos eslovacos de relixón lluterana, que fasta'l día de güei continúen siendo mayoría étnica na ciudá.
