باسيليوس الكبير

كان باسيليوس القيصرى (Basil of Caesarea)، والمعروف برضه باسم القديس باسيليوس الكبير، (329 او 330 - واتوفي فى 1 يناير 379م) كان هو الاسقف اليونانى للقيصرية (التركية) (Caesarea Mazaca)، الموجودة فى كبادوكيا، اسيا الصغرى (تركيا دلوقتى). يعتبر باسيليوس من أهم علماء اللاهوت، وكان مساعد العقيدة النيقية وعارض كل البدع اللى ظهرت فى الكنيسة فى الوقت ده، فحارب الاريوسيه، وأتباع ابوليناريوس (Apollinaris of Laodicea).

وبجانب عمله كعالم دين، اشتهر باسيليوس باهتمامه بالفقراء والمحرومين. وضع باسيليوس نظام الرهبنه فى خدمة المجتمع، والصلاة، والعمل اليدوى. فهو يشترك مع الانبا باخوميوس فى أنه يعتبر ابو الرهبنة فى المسيحية الشرقية. كمان يعتبر باسيليوس قديس فى المسيحيه الشرقيه والمسيحيه الغربيه.

ويعتبر كل من؛ القديس باسيليوس، و جريجوريوس النازيانزى (Gregory of Nazianzus)، وغوريغوريوس أسقف نيصص (Gregory of Nyssa) من الآباء الكبادوكيين. كمان منحته الكنيسة الأرثوذكسيه الشرقيه والكنائس الكاثوليكيه الشرقيه، بالاشتراك مع غريغوريوس النازيانزي ويوحنا فم الذهب (John Chrysostom)، لقب الكاهن الأعظم.
