IC 2391

IC 2391 هي مجرة تتبع كوكبة الشراع. اكتشفها نيكولاس لويس دو لكيل في 1751.[2][3][4] إنه تجمع مجمي مفتوح، يُرى في كوكبة الشراع (فيلا) . يتكون من نجوم حارة شابة زرقاء ، بعضها نجوم ثنائية وأحدهم نظام نجوم رباعي . وصف هذا التجمع العالم الفلكي الفارسي عبد الرحمن بن عمر الصوفي لأول مرة بأنه "نجم ضبابي" حوالي عام 964 ميلادية. [5][6] أعاد Abbe Lacaille العثور علي تلك المجموعة النجمية ، وتم تصنيفها كـ Lac II 5.

تقع المجموعة النجمية المفتوحة IC 2391 على بعد حوالي 490 سنة ضوئية من الأرض ، ويمكن رؤيتها بالعين المجردة. يحتوي على حوالي 30 نجمة بإجمالي شدة لمعان (قدر ظاهري ) 2.5 ، منتشرة بقطر 50 دقيقة قوسية.

يماثل عصر تكوين نجوم المجموعة المفتوحة IC 2602 في كوكبة كارينا المجاورة [25]، ويبلغ عمر المجموعة طبقا لتقدير حدود نضوب الليثيوم حوالي 50 مليون سنة. يبلغ متوسط المجموعة الأخيرة نفس المسافة تقريبًا ، وتقع على بعد حوالي 485 سنة ضوئية[26]
