አሶሳ

አሶሳ (የቀድሞ ስሙ አቆልዲ) የቤንሻንጉል-ጉምዝ ክልል ዋና ከተማ ናት። በ1994 እ.ኤ.አ. የሕዝብ ብዛቱ 11,749 ሰዎች ሲሆን በ1997 ቆጠራ መሠረት 20,226 ሰዎች ነው።

ከኮንጎ የመጣ የቤልጅግ ሠራዊት በመጋቢት 2 ቀን 1933 ዓ.ም. የጣልያንን ሠራዊት አሸንፎት 1500 ወታደሮች ማርኮ አሶሳን ያዘ።[1]

በኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ ጦርነት ጊዜ ኦነግ በወያኔ እርዳታ አሶሳን ከደርግ ሃያላት ያዘ።
