Vywer
'n Vywer is 'n klein, stil, landgebaseerde waterliggaam wat gevorm word deur water wat in 'n depressie opdam, hetsy natuurlik of kunsmatig.[1] 'n Vywer is kleiner as 'n meer[2] en daar is geen amptelike kriteria wat die twee onderskei nie, alhoewel die definisie van 'n vywer as minder as 5 hektaar in oppervlakte, minder as 5m in diepte en met minder as 30% met opkomende plantegroei help om die ekologie van vywers te onderskei van dié van mere en vleilande.[3][4]
