Minkewalvis
Minkewalvis of dwergvinvis is 'n naam wat aan twee spesies seesoogdiere, die gewone minkewalvis (Balaenoptera acutorostrata) en Antarktiese minkewalvis (Balaenoptera bonaerensis), wat aan 'n klade[2] in die suborde Baleinwalvisse gegee word. Die minkewalvis se amptelike naam is in 1804 deur Lacepède, gegee[3] wat dit as 'n dwergvorm van Balænoptera acuto-rostrata beskryf het.[4][5]

- It had been inaccurately described by the Danish zoologist Johan Christian Fabricius in 1780, who assumed it must be an already described species, assigned his specimen to Balaena rostrata, a name, however, that was already in use.
- Modern orthography makes it Balaenoptera acutitostrata.
