Dit is vernoem na die botaniese versamelaars Desmond Thorne Cole en sy vrou Naureen Adele Cole.[2]
Verspreiding
Die spesie is endemies aan Suid-Afrika en kom in Limpopo voor. Daar is slegs een populasie van 500 plante wat bedreig word deur oormatige versameling.
