Jonathan Butler

Jonathan Butler (1961-) is ’n Suid-Afrikaanse sanger, liedjieskrywer en musikant. Hy het reeds as kind begin optree en sy debuut in 1977 met 7th Avenue gemaak. In 1985 volg Introducing Jonathan Butler. Hy spog al met meer as 22 albums en twee Grammy-benoemings. Van sy groot treffers sluit in: "Lies" en "More Than Friends".[1]

Butler is op 10 Oktober 1961 in Athlone in Kaapstad gebore en grootgemaak. Sy eerste enkelspeler is op wit radiostasies gespeel, in 'n tyd wat rassegroepe geskei was. Dit het aan hom 'n Sarie-toekenning besorg.

In die 1980’s verhuis hy na Engeland, waar hy 17 jaar lank woon. Daarna vestig hy hom in Amerika, maar hy tree gereeld in Suid-Afrika op.
