Isotope van meitnerium
Die chemiese element meitnerium (Mt), met ’n atoommassa van ongeveer 268 u, het geen stabiele isotope nie en word dus as ’n radioaktiewe element geklassifiseer. Die sewe isotope is onstabiel en het ’n relatief kort halfleeftyd (die meeste minder as ’n sekonde).
In die natuur kom geen meitnerium voor nie; alle isotope is sinteties in ’n laboratorium berei. Die eerste sintetiese isotoop was 266Mt, in 1982.
Die kortslewende isotoop van meitnerium is 266Mt, met ’n halfleeftyd van ongeveer 1,2 mikrosekonde. Die langslewende een is 278Mt, met ’n halfleeftyd van 8 sekondes.
